CM Dhami Inaugurates Pithoragarh–Munsyari and Haldwani–Almora Helicopter Services
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday virtually inaugurated the Pithoragarh–Munsyari–Pithoragarh and Haldwani–Almora–Haldwani helicopter services under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN). The inauguration was carried out from the Chief Minister’s official residence.
The Chief Minister said the launch of these helicopter services would significantly improve connectivity for people living in the state’s remote and hilly regions, making travel faster, safer and more convenient.
Boost to Tourism and Regional Development
CM Dhami highlighted that Almora and Munsyari are among Uttarakhand’s ancient towns, known for their historical, cultural and spiritual significance. These destinations attract tourists due to their scenic beauty, historic temples and rich traditions.
With the introduction of helicopter services, travel time between Haldwani and Almora, which earlier took 3–4 hours by road, will now be reduced to just a few minutes. The Chief Minister said this improved accessibility will boost tourism and accelerate economic development in both regions.
Heli Flight Operations Timing and Frequency
Both helicopter services will operate seven days a week, with two flights per day on each route, ensuring regular and reliable connectivity.

Currently, heli connectivity has been established to key locations including Gauchar, Joshiada, Haldwani, Munsyari, Mussoorie, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat, Bageshwar, Nainital and Almora.
