Doda–Jammu Helicopter Service Takes Off, Boosting Regional Connectivity
The much-awaited Doda–Jammu helicopter service was inaugurated on Tuesday, marking a major step towards improving connectivity between the hilly district of Doda and the Jammu capital. The service aims to provide faster, safer and more reliable travel, especially during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
Inauguration and Fare
The launch was attended by DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal and Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh. The one-way fare has been fixed at ₹2,500 per passenger, with the service being subsidised to ensure affordability for the general public.
Passenger Assistance
To support travellers, the District Administration Doda has set up an Information Cell at the DC Office Complex for bookings and schedule-related queries. Passengers travelling from Jammu to Doda can seek assistance from the Directorate of Tourism Office.
Public Response
Passengers on the inaugural flight expressed satisfaction with the service, describing it as comfortable and time-saving. Local residents welcomed the initiative, calling it a major boost to Doda’s connectivity and regional development.
