Helicopter Services to Shiv Khori Shrine to Start Soon: LG Sinha
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday announced that helicopter services for pilgrims to the revered Shiv Khori shrine will begin shortly, with the required infrastructure nearing completion.
Addressing the 11th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University at Katra, the Lieutenant Governor said that the construction of helipads at both Katra and Shiv Khori is almost complete, clearing the major hurdles for the launch of the long-awaited service.
He said the proposed helicopter connectivity would greatly ease access to the shrine, especially for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, by reducing the physical strain involved in the journey.
Officials noted that once operations formally begin, the helicopter service is expected to significantly enhance pilgrimage facilities and improve overall connectivity to the Shiv Khori shrine in the region.
